My Bird turned out to be the little arm on the light was broken off so it stayed on all the time. Another could be something like the underhood light etc. Hard to find unless you can check in total dark.
I'm pretty sure I don't have either one of those lights.

I decided just for S&Gs I'd reconnect everything (Evo, amp, etc) and just let it sit overnight. I went to start it yesterday morning and...it worked! It started today too. Obviously something was draining it over the week it was sitting but I don't know what it was and I guess it took a few 30 minute drives back and forth to work to charge it enough where it didn't completely die?

I'd still like to know what was draining it but the tests I've done haven't help narrow it down at all.

If you are truly drawing 0.5 -0.9A that is quite a bit. Had a problem with my 06 battery dying. That had a 0.05A draw. New seconds battery from Exide for 30 bucks and it was good as new.

That's the same question I have. My truck also has a current draw problem, and it would seem to be far less expensive to replace diodes rather than the complete alternator. I never thought about the alternator drawing power, I haven't tested it yet either, I figured the draw was from wig-wag headlight and tail light control box. It said NOT to connect it directly to the battery, but I have no idea which wire under the hood will provide me switched power to control a relay...

I spoke too soon. Sunday night it did exactly what it did the first time I replaced my battery.

I was at home, drove my gf to the gas station so we could both get a slushy and so I could get gas for the week. It started fine, went to the gas station, turned it off to fuel and then nothing. I didn't even get the clicks. I turned the key and a tumble weed rolled by.

This happened a few years ago when my truck was still in warranty. I was running 3-4 errands and when I went to start my truck on the last one it was completely dead. I'm starting to think it must be an alternator problem, but an intermittent one? I found a place that does free battery/charging diagnosis so I'm going to head over there after work and see what they find.

Damn you battery or whatever is killing you.
I'm back folks, thought I'd revive this thread instead of making another that would end up being the exact same thing.
I'm sitting here at home 10:21 AM local time and I should have been at work at 7:30 all because my truck wont start. I picked up a booster for such an occasion and it won't even start it. I've also learned that my neighbours are ****s so here I wait for the $55 boost from the tow truck that I called at 7:15. Welcome to Monday!

Anyway, the reason I'm posting is because I MUST find a solution to this damn problem. Anyone with ideas that haven't already been covered here?

Shut off all loads ie. radio, heater, hood and trunk bulbs etc. and take key from ignition, remove negative battery cable and hook one end of a voltmeter to neg post on battery and other end to body (ground). If voltmeter shows any draw (volts) you have a system draw so find the fuse panel and get a friend to watch the voltmeter while you remove one fuse at a time until meter shows nothing which will tell you what circuit the draw is on. If it's the radio fuse for example disconnect the power to the radio, reinstall the fuse and recheck the meter. If no volts at meter get the radio checked or replaced.

good luck

Can you please explain how to use a voltmeter correctly to show draw?

I believe that should be ammeter, not voltmeter.

OK, I have a multimeter. Just not much experience with electrical "stuff". I had to replace my oe battery a few months ago. I had left my truck parked for four weeks, battery was completely dead. I tried to charge it, wouldn't hold a charge so I bought a Optima. I have been having to leave it parked for 3 - 4 weeks at a time without starting it. I have been having my wife drive it to work (30 min each way) once a week to keep the battery charged. She missed one week, I got home on the second week since it was started and battery is too dead to turn the engine over, lights are all dim, power windows wont work etc. Obviously a drain somewhere. I just want to know what I need to set my multimeter on to see if I can chase this, and to see if this battery is wrecked.

It could be a rare 07 thing, but my truck had the battery, and alternator, replaced shortly before I bought it. I asked the dealer why alternator was changed just months before I bought it and they claimed the previous owner complained about the battery dieing over and over even with a new battery. New alternator and it was fine.
