Had mine done last week. There was nothing wrong with the harness that was replaced, on mine. It has not caused it to run any differently.

Supposedly, the action of the steering wheel could cause it to come in contact with the wiring, rub the insulation off and cause a short. This would cause the airbag to go off in your face.

Dealer did the recall on mine when I had the oil changed. No reflash and no trouble afterwards. Truck runs the same. I can't see why you would have to reflash when just changing wires.

My repair involved no reflash. The same HEX code is there as before the recall work.

When I went in I told the guys not to flash the truck and also the tech when he came out to get it. They look up your truck to see if it has the latest flash....I do not think it is related to the recall though. I did not have mine set to stock. I was told to bring it around anytime I wanted it done. They must have updates once in awhile for what ever reason. Just like your home computer I guess.

i work at a ford dealership and that's a new one on me..we were doing 5 to 6 daily until ford ran out of stock and the part went on national backorder..we've just started getting some more wires in so i would re-check with your dealer..sounds like the service manager was making up a "story" about this..didn't want to tell you the truth about them not having the part in stock..just my opinion though...

Already had my airbag recall done a week or so ago. No issues so far and they did not reflash my PCM. My Gryphon would have told me about it.
