Public street is public street. If on street parking isn't prohibited, why did you have to move it?

I grew up in a city nmeighborhood, my mom still lives there, I understand not being rude, I understand not making it a habit, I understand being a good neighbor ..... but the truck is broke waiting for a tow.

Anyway ..... might have an issue with an injector, chances are you'll know when you read this.

Off topic warning .... .... Have a BIL in Conyers, we drive from Va. down several times a year, always through Dillard -Commerce - Athens and out 29-138-20. Actually I grew up in a town up U S Rt 29 a ways away in Lynchburg, Va .... largest city in the US that does NOT have an interstate highway serving it. .... small world.

I moved it just out of courtesy. Didn't feel right leaving my truck directly in front of their house when I had room in front of ours. I dropped it off at the Ford dealer and they said to expect a call sometime late this afternoon. We'll see what happens.

You keep on driving and ignore what the fuel gauge is trying to tell you.

Yep. Went and picked it up this afternoon and it's back to running like a champ. Turned out to be a stuck injector on the #1 cylinder. Parts and labor for the injector was $308.00. And while the truck was there, I told them to go ahead and clean the throttle body, injectors, and fuel system, and to put on a new fuel filter. Total cost for everything, including my fill-up on Sunday ----> $650.00

Oh, I'ld agree with that 100% if movable. I read the "had to" part and thought maybe that someone was .... well, you know ....

Saw the ending, glad it was OK.

When my BIL moved from Muscadine, Al to Conyers and we started using new routing to go visit, coming down through Commerce, etc ....first couple trips we'ld get messed up (and damned near "lost") on that Athens Loop! I know, "hard to believe" ain't it!

Wow, how do I figure that low fuel pressure caused an injector to fail.

Low fuel pressure isn't going to cause an injector to fail. Maybe junk was able to get past the fuel filter when the tank was run empty and it clogged the injector. It wanted to supply fuel to the injector, but since you didn't give it any, it used the only thing it had... GUNK! At least you know now not to do that again. I personally hope a gazillion people read this thread, because so many don't realize how important it is not to run the tank low, much less empty.

how does running the tank low cause it to suck in "gunk"?

Sediment rests at the bottom of the tank.

... and so does the fuel pump intake...

if there was any "sediment" or "gunk" on the bottom of the tank it would be sucked into the pump whether the tank was full or empty.

When there's little gas in the tank the sediment is highly concentrated. Very logical if you think about it.
