After I got use to using the Lisle tool, I didn't care if one broke and I had 5 break. Don't waste your money on the dealer unless you have the money to waste. If you do, can you send me a few grand?

I changed the plugs in my 07 5.4L at 77k Bought the lisle tool, and to my luck nothing broke. The local ford dealer wanted to charge me $300 some odd dollars to do the job without breaks. I also did my brothers 05 5.4L at 102K and once again, had no plugs break. So in total, thats like a $600 savings between the both of us. Deff would consider doing it yourself. In total took me at tops 2 hours.

Just started my plug change, first plug broke with the ceramic cleanly snapped at the hex nut.

Lisle ordered.

Does anyone have part number/manufacturers for 1 piece replacement plugs?

+1 What he said Gap them at .045" and you'll never regret it. I have 24,000 mi. on mine and the truck runs like the day I bought it.

got the lisle tool, pulled the first spark plug cup out with ease.

However, the damn tip of the lisle tool puller screw was broken off in the cup when I backed the tool out of the cup.

Yes, the BG treatment is a profit builder, but it's not a BAD thing to have done anyway. I don't have the spark plug issues that you guys have, but I have the dealer change them and I *DO* get a BG job done too. I don't mind paying the price.

This plug design was on the early 3v heads from 04-08.5.....
Mustangs and other models are having the same grief...this head is also on the 4.6
