front rear handles interchangeable?

On our 04-08 trucks, are the front and rear handles interchangable? Just a thought say for example a rear pass. door handle can fit in a front door?

A buddy at work, his f150 stx got broken into and said he wonder's if this could be done, i'm guessing he wants to get rid of the keyhole, so they won't have anything to pop, figured i ask the knowledgable gang here

I think they are, but those A-holes can still easily get in. The last few break in threads I've read something was jammed between the handle and sheet metal, and if they really want in there is always a window.

plus, without a keyhole in the door, if your battery dies you can't get in...

understood, i can see where he's going with it, it may deter the more less tempted thieves since the keyhole is like victim #1, but dang jam between the metal and handle that terrible

that's true, but the battery should still have enough juice to atleast use the remote fob if it can't start the engine...now if there is no battery and the pin to lock the doors go down the thats a big UH-OHHHH

I just installed jimmijammers on all 4 doors and the hood latch because of this very problem. I also added a lock plug to the front door.

If the battery dies, I have a trailer wire hookup and a rotary charger in a magnetic lock box under the truck. I just plug the trailer wire hookup into the trailer harness and charge the battery through there. It doesn't take much juice to unlock the truck.

Of course, the thief can always smash the window, but that is a very loud noise and typically more effort than they want to go through.
