rough idle and shutter..help

After work today left work and the truck ran like normal. Drove it 3 blocks to the store did some shopping and started the truck to go home and it adled real rough but smoothed out some. Then when I accelerated it shuddered and my scanguage alarmed the I had pending codes when I got home I checked the codes they were P0306 and P0316. My check engine light never came on but it idled rough when I got home yet. Should I switch COP with a differend one to see if it follow the COP? I did change the plug to motorcraft plugs about 500 miles ago. Did the fuel filter at the same time. What sould I check first. The truck has 94K on it, 2004 F150 5.4 Crew.

OK just got in from the garage I switched COP #6 and COP #2 around (different banks) now all is good? Do I have a coil that is going or is it just bad connection. Should I just order all new COPs and be done with it?

Do a cop swap between a known good cylinder and the known bad cylinder if the dtc code moves to the cylinder with the possible bad cop then you'll know its bad...

Edit I see you posted at the same time....disregard...

could be the spring connectors.....order a new set of cops from global or uneek on eBay...get the v10 set then you'll have a couple of extras...

I will be ordering new cops we will see if the problem comes back before then. Are the accel brand any good? Looked on ebay for the 2 sellers you mentioned and didn't find them. Weird that it would come on all of a sudden and go away just as fast. Hmmmmmm.... Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you have a COP that went out...I had the same issue where it would shutter occasionally at stop lights or sitting in traffic....EDGE allowed me to read the digital RPM's as you could barely see the needle move.

I had a drop of 40-80 RPM when it would shudder....no codes were ever thrown.

I replaced all 8 of mine with Global's COPS...have the stock ones in the garage in case any of them fail. Haven't had an issue in 6K miles though
