Just traded my 04 Heritage Edition the other day, and I got a couple hundred under the KBB trade-in value, so it was pretty accurate for me at least.

it really does depend on where you try to sell.

Carmax, for example, will pay top dollar for almost any vehicle that is on the newer end with less than 40K miles that they think they can sell quickly.

Some dealers will low ball at first and then work with you.

KBB, NADA, etc are all just indexes. With the price of gas where it is, and demand for smaller fuel sippers, don't be surprised if they won't come close to KBB or NADA

i am hoping for 26000 to 27000. it is a 4x4 with nav, moonroof, heated seats, backup camera, 20 inch wheels, everything. it is getting ready to turn 20k miles, so hopefully it still has some value.

the mileage of your truck helps, but it's a 3 year old truck now. It's an older model as well. in my area, that was a ~$31k truck new.

if you can get what you want, good for you but i think you will be looking more about 24-25k.

find dealers with raptors that fit what you want, if they aren't local tell them you have a trade and want a rough estimate. see where their offers are at w/ out pictures and just the details they ask (mileage, Vin, options, tread left on tires, etc). if they are reasonable, tell them you will send pictures and then see where they are at. i had my trade in worked out before i drove 4 hours to the dealer to get my new truck.

I have been trying to get into a 2008+ and the 07s & 08s are still selling for $30k - $34k average for luxury 4wd models. My friend had a red 07 FX4 Lux Screw 6'5 with 41k on it and it sold for $27,9. He told me they gave him $24,8 on trade.

we got 13k (rebates/dealer rebate)off our 08, so your at 32k new if you bought local to me.

the truck market is way too inflated right now, like i said i hope you get what you want for the truck, but don't be shocked if they're a couple grand lower. easily think you can get 24-25k trade-in though.

darren, should have posted up you were looking for a truck. 09 fx4 supercab w/ 50k miles was at a local ford dealership for 19,750. same used truck is $28-29k every where else. only reason i didn't buy it was they were offered me 5k lower than every where else was offering.
