Something always goes wrong after the dealership

My 04 F150 stalled out the other day and this is the second time it happened but this time the check engine light went on. The dealership said it was the throttle body and that it needed to be replaced. $500+ later I pickup my truck and as I am driving away the engine is making a wierd whinning noise when I accelerate and on occasion it would rev up a bit when coming to a stop.
My truck was not making these noises when I originally brought the truck in and you would think that the guy who test drove the truck after replacing the throttle body would hear that noise. I bring it back in and they say it could possibly be the idler or tensioner. If they replace one of them and it doesn't fix it they would have to replace the other $300+. I know that the throttle body isn't related to the tensioner or idler, but it seems a bit fishy. They say it is just a coincidence. Any suggestions? Is it ok to drive if the issue is the tensioner or idler? Has anyone had issues similiar to this?

Mine had a low idle rpm and would cause a stallout every now and then. Turned out it needed a PCM update. Was a TSB Ford put out.

Thank you for the sugguestions. I am not the best with automotive work but if given instruction or see something done I am good at doing it myself. How long would it take a "novice" to replace? Is there somewhere that would give you a step by step? I know it sounds weak but I have no problem admitting my automotive knowledge. Thanks again guys!
