Actually, he should use nickel anti-seize, just not on the threads.

I actually have both...A 2v and a 3v. My 03 is the one pictured in my sig and the one with the fuel smell is my 05 FX4 (no pics). I put Champions because they are of one piece construction unlike the Mtr Crfts so I'm told and I didn't want to take the chance of breaking anymore off. I thought that with only 50k on the plugs that breakage wouldn't happen but it did...x2.

The dealer told me exactly what you guys have mentioned about the plugs not seating. That has to be it since this all began a short time after i had them changed.

So...here's my other beef. Aside from the stupidly outragous price it cost to have 8 freaky plugs changed, I priced 1 freaky plug at the dealer...to mic and see the difference in size if any... Would have been 20 bucks...for one. (I felt a slight pinch around my tailend area)

I will more thatn likely change out the plugs but I won't be buying them from a Ford dealer...the local shop anyway. Rediculous!

Thanks for all your post guys!

"Freaky"...I spelled freaky...too funny! Should have been freakin.

So I called O'reillys and I can get the plugs for 8 bucks each. How does anyone buy anything from the dealer?

so with all these answers to your question was the issue resolved or not? Motorcraft plugs for motor. And also did the cats resolve the issue. Since there was no code setting off cats. But if you were monitoring your upstream and downstream sensors would you have noticed a problem. And did you possibly have a Raytheon or some other type of heat sensor lazer to check heat at Cats? To see if there was an issue with flow of exhaust? Presumption would be not.

Most of the issue was resolved from changing out the cats... they were busted up pretty good. I'm sure if I had the equipment to check the flow of exhaust it would of been easier to figure out. Still getting a rough idle and stalling though every once in awhile... Just guessing that maybe the throttle body needs cleaned.

Clean your throttle body and MAF sensor...MAF takes about 3 min
