Dash reflection on windshield, how to eliminate it?

If you look at "fivespeedsteed's" post on the windshield strip. the firs photo shows the dash reflection real good.Is ther a way to reduce-eliminate the dash cover reflection on the windshield?
I know the dealer "magnified" the issue spraying somthing like armorall on it when I picked it up.
What to do?

I have been driving the 04-08 model year F150's for 5 years and I don't recall ever having an issue with a reflection. Maybe I just don't notice it.

You must not notice it because it's terrible!

If I'm not thinkin about it I don't notice it but when I do it's annoying.

Basically anything short of a black hole will reflect some light. So you need to find the dullest black material you can find to cover your dash.

I have never noticed a reflection on my front windshield but maybe i just have never noticed it, but the only thing i could maybe think would work is put a very light layer of tint possibly like 50% or 35%, it would cut out light and reflections i think

if you want to cut down on it your gonna have to find a dash carpet or something like it. or just not armorall your dash. if you want to strip the armorall off there, use watered down simple green or some other de greaser. then i wouldnt leave it like that the dash might crack after a while, i would try using something like natural finish or the like, its like armorall but is supposed to be not greasy or reflective

Simple solution!
Just Close your eyes!! lol. You won't see the reflection again!!

I don't think that you will be able to do a carpet overlay and still make it look good. IMO

The reflection is sure obvious in the picture but I can honestly say I have never really noticed it in my truck. Out of curiosity I am going to purposly look for it when I get behind the wheel tomorow.

A black dashcover is your best option.

Thanks alot, I read this post and thought you were nuts. I drove my truck today and was sitting there waiting at the carwash and remembered this post and wow, theres is alot of reflection of the dash in the windshield. I never even noticed it before, but now I sure do. So thanks again for bringing this up. LOL.

I use a 3:1 dilution of hyper-dressing and it works good. Just don't look for the glare or you'll go nuts

Black Carpeted Dash Mat. I have them on three cars and the truck, I never see the dash looking back in the windshield. For over 30 years my office was a car, and long long ago I had started using a folded black towel in front of me on the dash for this reason. That was fine in a police car, my personal vehicles got Dash Mats.

When on trips, I take a few photos through the windshield, I can't find any with dash reflections. Look at these, in the first one you'll see a reflection of a black wire, it was a temporary XM set up in the truck last summer.

You cannot see the dash.

Here, the temporary setup was redone as seen in the last picture, no black wires laying on the dash.

Nearest thing to a black hole you can place on your dash!
