Cruise Control

Got a question about my cruise control. Since I bought the truck in 2007 (2004 model truck) my cruise control hasn't worked. I'm finally getting around to trying to fix it. Nothing happens at all when you try to turn it on, and I don't know what symptoms, if any, it had before it went out. Anybody got any ideas on where to start? On a side note, I had a problem a while back with the brake light controller not working properly. I had that fixed at the dealer and its fine now. Is there any way it could be related?

If your third brake light is out that may be the problem....

Thanks for the link. Didn't see that one when I was doing my searching. It seems like I might have the shifter interlock problem. My truck will shift into gear without pressing the brakes. I think I'll start there.

Had the same problem on my O4 F150. I noticed my power steering fluid was low added fluid and my cruise started working again. No problems since I added the power steering fluid. Hope this helps.
