Mpg help.
Hey guys I have a 2005 Screw 5.4, I have a 27 gallon tank. I only get anywhere from 230-250 miles per tank. Im not exactly easy on the pedal, but I dont punch it at every stoplight either. In the past year I have replaced Cam phasers, spark plugs, catalytic converters, U-joints. Truck runs great. Every now and then I will get a long crank, but no start. Dealership tested injectors when plugs were changed and said they were fine. Oil changes always done on time. I have also tried the gryphon and CAI to no avail( It is back on the stock tune and intake now) Why is my mileage so low? I have 33" tires and rancho quicklift, but they are new, my mileage sucked even at Stock height and OEM wheels and tires. It also sucked before the winter blend gas....My mileage has been this way for a year. Any help? Suggestions?
Well what kind of driving do you do... All Hwy or City.. Interstate..
Have you changed your Fuel Filter, Cleaned your MAF, Cleaned your Throttle Body..
Just a few things I can think of.. Have you been calibrated to adjust for the bigger than stock tires.

Right. The mileage was poor even before the tires. I lost maybe .3 mpg with the new tires. The OEM's were the Pirelli Scorpion 20's. I only went up 1"
Not sure I understand what you mean. Im using 27 gallons of gas and getting roughly 240 miles. Im not trying to figure out what my mileage is. Im just looking for a solution to what may be causing the poor mpg. Could you please elaborate?
Have you had your odometer recalibrated for your tires? Although with 1" difference I don't think it'd throw it off that much. Right now you're getting around 8.8mpg.
Have you changed you're fuel filter? When I did mine it was pretty dark colored and after changing it and after I put the new one on it made a little bit of a difference.

I didnt recalibrate only because the total diameter is only .6" different. I know it may be a tad off. Im just saying that I got the same fuel mileage with the stock OEM tires and wheels on the truck. I have not replaced the fuel filter yet. I will try that when it gets warmer. Any other suggestions? I may go ahead and do my injectors as well since I have an 05 and fear the hydrolock mess. Although the dealer said they were fine I may just do it for peace of mind. Anybody have a cheap place to buy them from? Link?
I normally get around 300-320 miles between fillups in the winter, but I'm not all the way empty either. I usually fill up when the fuel light comes on. I'm just a supercab with stock tires.
ok I understand. I usually fill up when the light comes on. i think I put in like 25.896 last time I filled. Still 230 miles on almost 26 gallons of gas is a little sad though. The worst part is this time, my light just came on, and Ive got 204 miles since last time i filled the hog up.
