Well the SAS may be coming sooner than i thought.

hey guys well while pulling somone out today behind my house i started sinking down in some sand in a creek. i got down to where the truck was setting on the frame and i could tell my front end was binding for some reason. i punched it in reverse one last good time and it popped for the last time. well the tractor came out and it took it standing up on the front end to pull it out.

when the truck finally started moving it slide off toward some trees and took my mirror off, oh well i wanted tow mirrors anyways. i came up out of the creek in 2wd then looked at the front end and this is what i see.

it broke off the side of the front chunk so its not going to be as easy as replacing a cv shaft. so im looking at dana 60s. there are a few in my area that seem good and are all ridiculously priced like all ford dana 60s but i understand that. time to start the swap.

That sucks man, but I guess it is a good thing too. Once you sell those rockwells you will have a little cash to help cover it. I can't wait to see you document this! gonna be sweet!

Why people think they can use 40"+ tires on IFS and still be functional/reliable is beyond me...

But hells yeah bring on the SAS.

yeah it sucks, i didn't expect it to happen this soon. funny i was talking to my buddy about getting together sas parts for my truck litterally yesterday and he said just wait untill it breaks to do the swap. haha

yeah put an ad up wanting to trade them for a good dana 60 and im hoping someone will do that, if not i should be able to sell them for enough to buy one. i've seen a few times in the past where someone wanted to trade a d60 for a set of rocks so maybe.

ha yeah you know for the longest time i just thought people didn't give ifs enough credit and it did do me pretty well. i've given my truck hell its whole life and it just kept going. all my chevy loving friends have always said it may be a ford but they did something right when they built my truck because it hasn't broken yet. i guess the weight of those 41s and the stress on the cv shaft because of the leveling kit finaly got to it.
