My Bumper Build

hey guys so i made a thread the other day asking about measurements for aftermarket bumpers and heres my build thread.

i ended up just goin out to the truck and taking basic measurements, i.e. entire height of bumper, length, and other little things. then i started making the design out of card board.

heres where im at so far:

i cant build any farther down with the card board on the truck so this is where the steel will begin.

tommorrow i'll be getting the steel and will start drawing it out on the sheet. also depending on how this one goes me and my buddy are going to start building and selling them, hopefully for a lot less than road armor and other companies.

thanks, progress should move pretty quickly unless there are a lot of hang ups.

what are you gonna do with your piaa 510's?

also it looks good, i would suggest to make the bumper flush on the sides and not stick out too much. also i would recommend making the angled piece under the headlights the same angle as it is now.

i somewhat built a bumper for mine that was similar to yours but then didn't really like the design and bought a frontier replacement. good luck though man can't wait to see it done

What thickness plate you planning on using? Planning on putting any sort of winch mount inside of it?

im going to run the 510s in a rear bumper if i make it or for back up lights

yeah i want the sides in some, im not sure what you mean by the angled piece under the headlights.

most of it will be made of 3/16th and i haven't decided but i'll probably put some 1/4 in it for the main pieces. that seems to be what most of the aftermarket bumpers are made of.

it will definitly have d-rings mounted on it i just didn't show them, also a hitch wouldn't be hard to put on.

haha well i know a buddy from budweiser so thats where i got the buckets, neon signs, etc.

im in. if you can offer one with a winch mount and for less than a road armor, youd have something.
