Rotor and pad recommendations?
I have Powerslot slotted Rotors (non Cyro) and Hawk LTS pads. Had them for about 25K miles now and work better than ever. Stopping power compared to stock is night and day. My biggest worry was slamming on the brakes and not having the truck stop at all. These stop my truck and boat better than my stock ones stopped the truck. Def worth the money.
go to autoanything.com and add them to the shopping cart. Will give you an exact price with free shipping on the parts. I believe mine were about $500 for everything.

I will be going with the EBC 7000's for the Front and 6000's for the rear.....$141 at AutoPartsDealer.com

I spent $500 on rotors and pads. The 2WD kit costs more because it comes with a 4WD rotor conversion hub made by Centric. You still have to torque that hub down to 300 ft/lb's just like a 2WD rotor.
I only changed my fronts out. $230 for them from Brake Performance.com, $50 some for the semi metallics for front, running stock disks in rear with wagner ceramic pads I did on my original brake pad change job, when they chew the stock rotors up i'll do the same as I did up front. So about $550 for brakes overall, or $350 some for pads all around and disks up front.
I'm not sure if the OP had determined what brand pad he wants to run, but I would strongly suggest that if you're considering Akebono's, DON'T.... They used to be a great pad, but they have changed pad material make up and now are less effective at braking and make boat loads more noise then they used to. I've run at least 3 sets in the past with great performance, but after the P.O.S.'s I have now, I'll never buy again.
Rockauto can be a good source for parts if you haven't checked them out.

IMO braking components should always be changed in pairs. Changing just the front should be fine. Changing just the rear later down the road should be fine. You want to avoid changing just the left or just the right IMO. I'm no expert but I'm sure others will chime in with similar advice to mine.
We bought for our 2005 Ford F150 4x4 Lariat on Ebay at Brakemotive in Chicago. Bought drilled and slotted rotors front and back. Also purchaced premium performance Ekabono ceramic pads. Been on the truck four years. Just purchased another set of same Monday. Delivered yesterday. No problems noted in hot or cold Indiana weather.

I've heard good things about the Wagner Thermo-quiet and I'd go with ceramic to keep the dust down. I plan on using these in the next couple of months when I do all my brakes. Is this a 2wd or 4wd? You can just do the fronts if you like, I would take the rear rotors off and have them checked for warping and have them turned if there is still enough material. I'll be doing the Centric hub and rotor conversion on my 2wd so I can run 4x4 rotors. I always have rotors turned when installing new pads. Nothing beats having a nice round rotor with new pads.
I have been using o'reilley's ceramic pads, and their standard rotors with pretty good success...I just replace the rotors at every brake change...the rears were $ 35/ each last time I did them...I am at about 50K miles since I did them last...they are ready again...
I found that when the rotors were turned, they warped real quick...
