04-08 Rake?

Why is it that the 04-05s have more rake than the 06-08? Did Ford raise the front on the later models, or lower the rear? Thanks

never been able to figure it out. my guess is the shocks. the blocks are the same height i think. it is a fact though. 04-05s are raked another inch in the rear.a total of 3 inches. 06-08s are 2 inches.

To be honest, I've never noticed that there is a difference in rake between the model years. Although I have to say the factory rake on my '05 4x2 was ridiculous -- I lowered mine in back with a 2" shackle drop to make it look right!

you can only really notice it in pics when you get 2.5 kits on both 04-05 trucks and 06-08 trucks. a 2.5 front kit with nothing rear on an 06-08 makes it way nose high, and on an 04-05 truck its perfect. my dads got an 05 stx 4x4 and i have an 07. both measure 37 front, but his measures 40 rear, and mines 39 rear.

The difference, I believe, is because 04 and 05's got 4 leaf packs and 06+ got 3 leaf packs. This would account for that half inch more rake on the earlier models.

Some said it's only half. Weird. As far as I've read, the only difference is the extra leaf. A whole inch is a pretty big difference haha.

ive always measured a full inch diff on my truck and my dads 05 4x4, i did a bunch of reading on level kits to see if i wanted a 1.5 or a 2 inch kit, and i mostly found the difference to be a full inch. some might be a half inch though. next time im home ill measure the leaf packs and block

My 05 was way too high in the rear and the tires/wheels looked stupid. I used 2" shackles to lower the rear.

Well, it sounds like that extra leaf might be the reason. Block size could be questionable though. So far, I've heard the rear blocks on ALL 04-08s measure, 1 5/8" 1 7/8" and 2". Measuring while still on the truck, I get 1 7/8"...

Fivespeedsteed, I see youre from Richmond. I come to your town every morning during the week. If you ever get a package from DHL, Im the one that flew it in.

Slightly different arch and camber on the 04/05 trucks as well as having the additional leaf.

Not sure if it's my imagination, but it also seems to vary from truck to truck. Reg cab long bed 4x4's and super cab 6.5 bed 4x4's seem to have the most rake over say, a reg cab short bed 4x4 and a super crew with the 5 foot bed. Not sure if this is true.

Either way, my rake is probably just as bad as those early models. I'm 2wd, oem 4x4 blocks in the rear and stock up front.
