Which looks better

When i lift my truck i am thinking about taking all the chrome i have on my truck off. I seen a few of the red f150 that had black rims and no chrome and they looked sharped !!! This is a picture of my truck right now but i have chrome mirror covers on it right now

and after the lift i plan on putting some black rockstars on it but i think it would look something like this, just with out the full back doors and my bottom trim is grey not red...

I agree, if nothing else get rid of all the add on chrome for now, when you have the time and money PTM the bumpers. Paint them the color of the bottom trim (grey?), and maybe get the fender trim that goes on the lariats/fx4 and paint PTM them too (grey).

I mean I would rather have the trim red but that doesn't bother me all that much.

I'm leaving the chrome on my truck for a while until I have enough money for my lift, rims, and tires.

The truck that was in the URL I posted was a 2wd just like mine and the only difference was the trim color but I don't really care cause it all looks good.

Does that chrome stuff pop off ?

Either way, if you do not plan on painting the existing gray part red, I dont know how red, bumpers would look. For an idea of what I am talking about, look at my truck.

Are those chrome inserts on the door pillars? If so, get those off and the chrome gas lid as they look hokey. I think the fender flares and PTM bumpers would look good. I would just PTM the bottom trim color though, I woudn't go full-red.

I think chrome looks nice but on the right application. In your case, I'd say ditch the chrome, at least the door pillars.

When I got my truck it had the chrome pillars and door handles and chrome along the bottom of the doors (still does) I peeled the chrome off of the pillars and it was a real PITA, which is why I haven't done the bottom of the doors, but it looks a lot better. The chrome door handles just pop off with a flat head screw driver.

If I were you I'd take it off.

I've heard its a real PITA to get the bottom part off... I know a guy said he took it to a body shop to have done, and they said it it was pretty damn hard to get off.. I think it had been on the truck since new in 04

That's part of why I don't want to take it off right away plus I don't know if it's hiding somthin or not.
