fuel pump driver module

in reading all the threads on the fuel pump driver module i have to wonder if it is worth replacing just in case? i replaced the iwe solenoid on the firewall a year or so ago out of precaution and now i am glad i did after all the related threads.

so whats the consensus? worth replacing?

whats the part number for an 05 king ranch 4x4? whats the going price and best place to buy?

I think it would be beneficial to at least look at it and see if there is any corrosion and/or cracks going on, and remount if necessary.

The works are encapsulated as I understand it.

It's just a housing cracking / corrosion issue.

Seen pics of working units busted open with no back left, and after pulling mine yesterday ...
... and seeing how the frame cross member is "not" flattened ...
... seeing how the bolts themselves could break it if over tightened ...
... I'ld say many of them would have gone for years with busted housings as their encapsulated guts worked their magic ...
... as many appearently have already done.

While I might would replace a cracked one, I'ld keep it as a spare.

As to an o5 KR in Florida .... I'ld look at it first before ordering a new one.

yah i guess it wouldnt hurt to pull it down. truck has only been in fl for 10 months before that it was in nj since new. while there is the winter road salt up there, living near the water down here might be worse. while i havent yet, dunking the back end into the water at a boat launch might be the max in bad.

anybody got the correct part number? where did you get it from and how much?

i would just inspect it on periodicly. ford advises to clean and coat the area under the module with undercoating or a water reistant grease to prevent corrosion. so if yours is ok, i would removed it and clean the mounting area and coat it with something to prevent the corrosion.
