Interesting to hear the answer on this. I bet it is like others have stated, yy/mm/dd.

That's right , they were lol. Built for/in 01.

Big endian format is used internationally to satisfy the ISO 8601 standard yy/mm/dd and is a common date format in Canada (per Wikipedia).

This would indicate your engine sticker code 080701 was manufactured July 1st of 2008
Never heard of "Big endian" before ..... live and learn.

Wonder what the build date for the truck as indicated on the door jamb sticker is then? I would expect July (or maybe August) 2008 if so?

My '07 shows build date as 06/07 and the engine label says 05-26-07 for example.

The engine sticker code they use to identify the engine incorporates the build date into it. FMC did tell me that engine code was part of the trucks bill of materials for production. Even though it says 2001 I could make a separate call to independently verify their records. Hadn't thought of that.

Agreed. Everybody else is reporting a little endian sequence. This is a 2008 F150 LIMITED. I wonder if this a LIMITED edition thing. I would be closer to satisfied if Ford can tell me this or if another LIMITED owner can verify their engine build date code. I think everybody that has posted there engine code (in little endian) had other 2008 F150 models.

For clarity here for me. Endian Code 101 started for me about 1 hour ago.

There might be a chance that everyone else's engine code reads Day-Month-Year (01/02/03), where mine MIGHT read Month-Year-Day (02/03/01). Right?

I am looking for other LIMITED owners on this forum and 1 other and emailing them for their help. If it turns out its a LIMITED thing, FMC needs to reimburse me for the 1-1/2 gallons of Pepto Bismol.

Back to the drawing board. Just talked to a guy who has a Limited and his sticker reads like everybody else's. Back to square one for me, it is either a misprinted label or its a 2001 engine.

Calling FMC and my dealer down the road again on Tuesday. I want them to feel the pain I have been experiencing in figuring this out. LOL

I just want them to show me the proof of either, one way or the other.
