Smittybilt light Bar painting question and config light question

OK so I just got my Smittybilt light bar and really wanted a chrome finish but they only sell black.

Light bar Questions:
[1] Do you think I should paint it chrome or leave it black
[2] A little sanding and spray can chrome, think it will look ok on my truck?

For xmas the wife is ordering me a set of Hella 500FF Driving Light Kit and Hella 500FF Fog Lamp Kit. I really wanted some piaa's but we have kids to take care of for xmas so I settled for these. Anyways how do you think I should mount these on the light bar for max performance?

Black looks good, chrome would be to much bling hanging out front.

I would mount driving on the outside. This is what i did:

The two outsides are 500FF and the two insides are 700FF. Mine are wired on two 3 position switches. One switch controls outside driving lights, one switch controls two inside high beam lights. In the up position the lights will come on with my high beams through the use of a relay, and in the down position lights are on all the time. Of course mid position being off. In my sig there is a light bar build link, you can check that out for a little more information on my setup.

that truck is very nice, but IMO too many lights!
but it still looks better than mine.

I never could figure out why mine never looks that good.
maybe its the color and a bad picture taker.

Way to many lights? I have to disagree there. I think the 4 lights fill out the front nice. I tried two, but to much space. Living in the country the more lights the better.

That configuration does not work in The City. People backing in & out of parking spaces will knock those lights right off.

They would have to get pretty dang close to do so. My bar sits about 1/2" from the bumper. It barely sticks out honestly.

Trust me on this. I've had bumper mounted lights on different on cars. "Pretty dang close"? No. You see: what happens is that they back up until they hit your car. And they back in & out at angles. You think that since you have a truck, Jeep, or 4X4, your bumper is high enough off the ground that a passenger car can't knock off your lights. But some other truck or van will take care of it for you.

At that point I would just mount large spikes on my bumpers. That way I would at least leave my mark.

I don't really plan on being in the city either, I like the country far better.

well the light bar is pretty stout itself. i rolled into the back of an s10 the other week and it completely totaled his tailgate but didn't even get through the powder coat on the lightbar. and it hit the tabs too. it actually bent my bumper up some from the hit but didn't affect the light bar.

edit: i guess it helped that im lifted
