F150 idle
F150 idle
Hey Folks
Got a rough idle issue for which your input is appreciated (2007, 4.6L)
*Bought it with 17,000 miles. It idled okay for a while then it began to have occasional rought idle. I had the dealer run diagnostics on two occasions (~21,000 and 30,000) and they found no vacuum leak no codes, etc. They reflashed the computer but it didn't seem to achieve much. It then was okay for about 6 months (after I had a shop flush the coolant system...which I assume is unrelated). Now (past 2 months), the old ghost has reappeared and it is getting annoying.
symptoms:
- while idling, it run perfectly
- once the temp needle approaches normal operating temp (i.e. straight up) the idling vibrations start.
- it is felt in the stering wheel, the seat, armrest, door, et cetera, with a strong vibration in the brake pedal
- it does this regardless of whether the AC or heater is on or it is in neutral or in "drive".
I change the air filter religiously. I ahve also done the normal fuel filter, PVC, etc maintenance.
Am I losing it or does it seem to be a function of temperature (does not overheat)...?

Not the same year/model but the concept should be the same.
