Newbie takes first steps...

Well in my short time here i have learned invaluble knowledge about my rig.

Thanks to many of the people here who have saved me from spending a few hundred bucks to punch holes in my pistons (a washoobi right MGD)

I took my first steps in modifying my truck today.... GOTTS MOD!

Spent a whopping 17 dollars on it! And i dont know if its me or if these are intended results but it seems to cruise about 200 rpm lower than it did before... Throttle response seems just a touch better...

Next mod is going to be an edge CS.

Thanks everyone! Just wanted to share

Justin

My truck seems to idle much smoother and acceleration is much better after the GOTTS. Congrats and good luck with further mods.

Justin, if you are planning more mods and will not be leaving your truck stock then dont go with the edge evo, Go with the Gryphon. they will give you custom tunes based on your mods not on a stock truck like edge does..
Check out http://forum.gopowerhungry.com/upgrade-your-evo/

Yeah I would love to get the Gryphon. I have been researching it as well. As long as I can get it for a decent price then why not? However, even brand new the price you pay is very reasonable for what you get...

Thanks MGD!

its your numerous posts about the negative effects of a CAI that steered me clear of them.

I want to do it right with this truck and there is a lot of info to be had here.

Now another question though...

is there any other pros to the Gryphon CS as opposed to the Gryphon? Other than being color screen?

Does it possess logging capabilities or anything?

Thanks fellas!

Hey.

Sorry I'm late.

Oddly enough, the older Gryphon currently has more features than the new CS/CTS w.r.t. logging, avg mpg's, and a couple other things - for the '09+ trucks. Edge/PHP are working to correct this deficiency - so I'd expect forthcoming firmware updates to rectify same. https://www.f150online.com/forums/ch...s-09-10-a.html

AFAIK - these are not issues for the 04-08 trucks.

The CTS will also support an optional backup camera.

W.r.t tuning - they all deliver the exact same calibrations.

Speaking strictly about logging - SCT currently offers the most comprehensive functionality and end-user tools for this function. Good stuff, indeed.

Looks like I am going to get the CS. Seems like the best model for me. Plus I just sold my 96 Tacoma so maybe I will spoil my self and order some extra tunes!
