Auxilliary heater for bed with shell
Auxilliary heater for bed with shell
I'm heading back down the I-5 corridor in a week - Seattle to San Diego - and will have some very expensive sailboat racing sails in the back. These things really don't like freezing conditions, so I'm thinking about adding some heat back there just in case. When I ordered my Leer canopy, the one and only option I didn't get was the boot between the cab and canopy and the 12v aux power plug.
If I get the boot and open the slider windows I presume I can get some heat pushed back there but doubt I can get it done in time.
Anyone had to keep an animal (or kids) warm back there and have any suggestions?

I think you can add the boot as an accessory. Does the cap have a sliding rear window? You could always put a small propane heater back there if you secured it well and were sure it couldn't catch anything on fire. That might be illegal though...not sure.
If you could run a switched 12V line back to the cab, you could install one of these in the back

Just make sure it's secured and away from the sails.
