Aux line help please...

When I plug my mp3 player in to the plug on top of the rubber tray on the dash, then press the Aux button, it says "No Aux Line Connected" or something to that effect. I tried two different 3.5mm lines and two different ipods. Am I doing something wrong, or is mine just broken?

Thanks,
Hunter

Did it work before or did you add this to your truck?

You should be pushing the "line in" button

I seem to recall having a similar problem once. It turned out that the cable I was using wasn't a stereo cable. I guess that a stereo cable has different contacts than a non-stereo cable. Give that a look.

Good luck.

There isn't a line in button, only an aux button. The truck came with the input from the factory, but I just bought the truck last week. I'm guessing it is just broken, but I will try using a stereo cable, though I'm not sure that isn't what I already have.

Thanks,
Hunter

stereo mini connectors have two black rings on the shank.
