All Cammed up

Two weeks ago I had OBX longtubes and custom side exit exhaust installed on my saleen. The exhaust still exits on both the passenger and driver's side in front of the rear wheels, uses two mufflers, and an Hpipe. That, coupled with a better tune, I was making 9PSI and made 417/456 at the wheels through 23" Wheels and a two piece driveshaft.

Well, that wasnt good enough. I had some Brenspeed detroit rocker cams installed and retuned. I picked up an additional 26rwhp and 17ftlbs of torque. The power curve looks like it just raised an inch across the entire graph. It looks like I picked up 25rwhp across the entire rpm band. The tuner had to take fuel out of the tune with addition of the cams. This is on a stock fuel system with 42lb injectors. I have a KB boost a pump, but didnt need it. I didnt lose any boost either....still making 9psi

working on getting a video

Seems like cams aren't worth it if you only picked up 26/17.

That's 26rwhp at nearly every rpm. Much different than peak someplace in the rpm range. The seat of the pants dyno is very happy. The looks from others when they hear a cammed 3v is almost worth it by itself.

I'm using the saleen sc with a 3.0 pulley

They were 800 plus install. No springs or retainers required.

Randy, you will have to get one before I deploy!

Jeff took the truck home when he was tuning it. His wife loves it. You should have been at the Saleen meet in Bham last weekend. I would have taken you for a ride. Its great to make 23" wheels fish tail!

Easy on those pricey 23" tires big boy. LOL

Jeff worked on a Harley truck while at MPH. I remember watching it make over 700 on the dyno. I also watched the owner do a burnout out front.

These trucks can be Beasts! Yours is well on its way.
