Unhappy UH OH!...it might be my turn SOON

well i was on the way home from the folks house and hell was in sight..i think..

06 5.4v w/ gryphon on custom 93 perf. washoobi, and MBRP si/so
ive read a ton of posts and haven't read this symptom anywhere, but i may have missed it. cruising at about 45mph exhaust note changed and sounded alot meatier..almost like i had a bad a cam in it. stopped maybed 100 yards later at a red light and my butt was shaking, not violently..but enough the girlfriend and i noticed. ran a lil rough from the light, and the next light...with NO CEL at all..not even a flicker. gave it some gas and it was sluggish but down shifted 3-2 fine and tc was not locked. drove about a mile more to my house and it cleared up..no shake..no roughness...nada. STILL NO CEL. maybe a COP going up? fuel pressure if i remember right was mid to high 30 something...

Went and got more info...cause i dont wanna hear it lol. This is about everything i could get off the Gryphon that i felt may be relevant.

Drove around with NO issues and warmed up the truck to about 200* according to my CHT pid. Parked, and these are the numbers from all the PIDs at IDLE

Variable cam: 0-1
Spark Timing BTDC: 12*-18* jumping around
MAF: 5.8-5.9
Line PSI desired: 56
Fuel Rail PSI: 38-39
RPM: 620-630
Oil Temp: 178
ECT: 188*
CHT: 194*
TFT: 132*
Battery: 14.3v

thats all i got...cant really drive around at 2000rpm and change PIDs and write em down...

^^ That's what the GF is for

Bad gas? Fuel filter?

2006+'s don't really suffer from injector/Cop issues, normally. Plug R&R history?

I'd get some Mode 6 data, pending codes, etc pulled, if any. (No CEL)

Go log some fuel trim & O2 switching info ( if possible).. (In point of fact, you should be datalogging all this info - you have that capability)

Nice to see someone actually posting good data

dude i knew better then to come here empty handed..cant help anyone until they help themselves. I'll swing by the buddies house tomorrow and steal his snap-on and see what i come up with. BTW fuel filter just changed about 800-1000 miles ago, and the only gas that goes in is Shell or Sunoco. Strange that it cleared up and didnt show up when i took it out. Hell, it could be gas...im getting kinda low on this months tank

i actually had that problem a few weeks ago. i have the gryphon with a 87 custum performance tune. it was shaking the truck at a red light and ran rough for about a mile and then stopped, havent had a problem with it since. im guessing it was just bad gass...

According to this:

http://www.edgeproducts.com/download...pvk=345&type=2

Page 32 - Diagnostics, shows a datalogging menu item. You'd need the appropriate software to export this output to analyze same. Excel for example, if output is in a CSV format.

Look at the bright side - you get fancy background bitmaps and a new Maintenance Minder applet !

Who needs pesky datalogging when you can have all that bling?

I have experienced similar issue with running canned 93 gryphon tunes. Does not do it in any other modes. Basically the truck shutters/skips, typically happens at lower speeds 35-45mph and not changing (i.e cruise control) or stopped (light), when its done that I kick it one time and the problem goes away. Not sure what the root of the problem is, never thrown a CEL. I have been running level 2 for a while now, so I basically forgot about it until reading this post. Curious to see what comes from this.
