Help me spend $200.

Nothing is coming off the truck.
I ended up getting less than what I thought, and I already payed all my bills up a month ahead, or in one case off and in the other case up till july of next year.

I can maybe go $250 if its something I really like.

Was looking at blacked housing head lights, or a new grill. Been wanting them for a while, but unsure how it would look. Or even if anyone would notice.
Maybe some step bars. I found a set of black ones like I want for $210 new.
The tool box I wanted is out of my price range.
I like my singe 8" but would like dual 10". Not a high place on my list.

I DO want a true dual 2.1/4 exhaust. Now I do have the parts picked out, and I could afford them if I spent the money back off my paypay credit account, and used the cash for the labor.
BUT, there is no where close by I
1) trust to do a good job.
2) welds look good.
3) has the time to do it.

Other thoughts?

Thank you for your time, and suggestions.
I have cash in hand (or bank) this time though.

Here is a list of what I have.
06 F-150 XLT
4X2
W/T mats.
AVh 3100 DVD
6.5Foot bed
Supercab.
factory sub box with newer sub and kicker 300.1

You should look into doing some HIDs....you will love how much more light you get and the look of your truck. You can get a decent set off eBay for like $60....someone else on the forum may know a better place to get them but you can install yourself...if you need help i can send you pics and walkthrough...and then look into getting another grill....your truck will look so much cleaner with a nice flush billit grill.

I think you should put a leveling kit on your truck if you havent already it would make a world of difference. or some lights on your grill guard.

my thought exactly

I would go with whatever you think will do best...do you want performance or visual improvement?

Headlights you should be able to find cheaper than $210. Check ebay and just reseal them with silicone so they dont leak. I got mine for around $129 a few years ago and never had any issues with them.

Leveling kit would be a good option, leave in cost of an alignment though.

Exhuast will be hard to do for true duals with them welded up by a shop....parts alone will run you $200 or so...install another $150-200

I already leveled it, but not in that pic, that are a bit old. It was a 2" daystar kit and the truck is 1/4 higher in the rear now.

I was thinking fog lights, and a saleen grille along with some blacked headlights.

I was going to get it all at once and just spring for the big extra, but I called saleen and they are OOS on the grills.
I am going to wait till I can get it all at once.

Well I try to keep it clean, and I already have enough stocked up I think.
I can think of maybe a few things I might need, but not much.

Why not just do something really radical ...... like saving it and adding to it next month .... and the next ..... and etc until you really need it?

About 20-25 years ago I found a $100 bill folded and tucked inside the celephane of a cigarette pack on the side oof a highway one night. Easy to spend, I didn't. I put it in a folded card and sealed it up with clear tape to keep dry. Over the years since, I have cut it open, pulled what was in it out, added another $ 100 bill to it, folded, and put back in and resealed it with more clear tape. For the last 25 years of my career, it was in my ID case.

It's nice traveling and knowing I have enough cash to help out in an emergency, it's not just a single $ 100 bill any longer. As long as it's sealed up, it's just hard enough to spend that by the time I'ld get it open, I'ld have rethought the decision and I don't.

Just a thought.

Please don't trow good cash away on junk lights though ..... and if you don't know why I say that ..... look down in the modifications forum for a great write up.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/ar...ns-v-hids.html

My career was spent on patroling highways at night, day, fog, snow, rain, clear, high speed, deer, bear, etc ..... and the lights on your truck are great. You do not want to be blinding oncoming drivers .... especially on two lane roads.

I had them, for my intake that I no longer have.
Now I am just canned 93.

So far, I have spent $0 on my truck, besides getting gas at shell because BP here sucks.
I get 1-2 MPG more when I visit shell.

I might end up saving it, all the things I want, none of them I have to have.
It might be a good idea to say some back anyway when I can.
I think I have about $120 saved up, enough extra for gas till my next pay day and all my bills paid into next month. (I paid some of the $200 on bills)

Go me.

I do think I will remove the vent visors, as they are broken (just noticed) and I was thinking about the grill guard.
But thats a big choice.
I like it in a way, but I also don't. I like it more than I dislike it. And its not really hurting anything.
It was also a PITA to install and I doubt I would want to go through the hassle to remove it, and then what? sell it? Most people here already know I got it new for $210 and it now is new for $179 from the same place.
