Good news and good choice in gas. I am a firm believer that the Shell 93 (tuned for it) helped keep the plug deposits down. That's what I use most of the time.

Here are pics of the plugs....

and close ups of 2 of the plugs.

They were in the truck for 60,496 miles. The guys there recommended swapping them again in about 50k, and at $322 I'm sure they'd love to do it again. On top of the spark plug change, they also changed the oil and oil filter, did a fuel system cleaning, flushed the power steering fluid and transmission fluid. Not a cheap visit, but I'll be good to go for a while now.

Glad to hear it went well! I sure should have done the change at 60k. My plug change at 100k was a disaster, half broke and 2 of them were in the back cylinders... nearly had to remove the head. I put in the Champions, plan to pull them every 30k to check on them but so far so good after ~12k.

None broken? That's great news and promising to hear. I've kept up with all scheduled maintenance and plan on doing mine at 60K (only another few thousand), so hopefully it will go well. I also believe I have the brown plugs, so it may not be an issue for me. I keep forgetting to go check the build date on mine.

Congrats on the plug change NCSU. I had the dealer do mine at 56xxx after reading all the horror stories and since my truck was used and bought at 38K I was unsure how well it was cared for. My dealer broke none and I have since done the tranny fluid, rear diff fluid, upgraded the brakes, cleaned the throttle body, replaced the TPS sensor and had to have my tranny dropped to replace a bad flex plate/starter. I have the flex plate at home I need to take pictures of and post....its chewed to all hell.

76K on the truck now and hopefully no maintenance for awhile....gets expensive. I plan on another plug change around 100K or so.

I hope by 76k it's paid off. I figure even if I spend 2k/yr on maintenance any what not, I'm doing pretty good.

My tires are in the "yellow" zone, so I figure I can squeeze another 20k out of them. That'll be the next big maintenance charge.

Just had my plugs changed this week at 82K, normally i do all maint on my vehicles myself. I have always hated paying someone to do something i can do myself. Didnt want to try doing the plugs myself due to all the issues, and time.

Dealer charged only 250 labor and no extra charge for any broken plugs (unless heads had to be removed) I got lucky and none broke.

Doing the rear diff tomorrow using Royal Purple, changing fuel filter, and trans fluids.

Doing Cam phasers in December when i have a week off. tired of the TICKING.

If it's a light ticking, that is the fuel injectors openning and closing and is normal. The cam phasers are more of a knock.

^ I've used both dealerships and been satisfied with their work. I primarily use Capital now, just because they're about 1.5 miles from my office.

Everything said and done was ~$875, out the door, after taxes.

$48 for the oil and oil filter change
$322 for the spark plugs and labor to swap them
$0 multi-point inspection, battery test, tire check, etc
$160 for the fuel system cleaning
$112 for power steering flush (probably coulda skipped this really)
$177 for the transmission flush.
$32 for "shop supplies"
