$48 oil change? Maybe then in perspective the plug change they charged is a lot but I could find price that in my area...

I'm pretty sure its the cam phasers, i said ticking...i meant to say is sounds like a deisel at idle when the engine is warm.

 

They all pretty much sound like that (cam phasers). The sound is normal unless they are actually causing a problem.

 

what problems should i be looking for other than the horrible ticking? How would i know if the ticking is normal or the cam phasers are going bad and need to be replaced. The ticking has gotten worse over the last year, but it may be becasue i am very aware of it now and know what it is.

 

I think my break down from todays work was something like this (paper is out in the glove box so going from memory)

Fuel System Flush (recommended to loosen plugs carbon but also gives you clean injectors and a new Air and Fuel filter too) - $160

Plugs were IIRC $20 each for total of $160

And the actual labor for plugs (none ended up breaking but was quoted 1/2 hour each at $80 an hour if so) $233

The total was $564 and some change including tax on parts.

Done at 94K
