2 versions of '06 rear brake pads? Which do I need?

Looking to buy some Wagoner thermo quiet pads for the rears, to match the fronts I just installed. Looking at the listed part #'s, there are two:

MX1012 (to 03/06/06)
MX1012A (from 03/06/06)

My door jamb sticker gives 3/06 build, and looking at the left cam cover, it shows an engine build date of, you guessed it, 03/06/06!? Mine has the little "price tag" build date sticker in the fuel door, but it is unreadable.

So, logic would suggest to me, the engine was probably built at least a day before the truck was assembled, so I probably need the latter, MX1012A part. But I want to be sure.

Any one know anther location to find chassis build dates, or know the physical differences in the two brake pad versions, that I can check to see which I need? From the online stock pics, the two versions show a slight variation in the anti rattle spring, which mine don't really look like either of those.

Help?

The way you read it is any truck with the build date up to and including 03/06/06 needs the MX1012 pads. Any date after 03/06/06 needs the MX1012A.

If your still unsure, buy both, match them up and return the ones you don't need.

BTW, always go by the door jamb sticker.

Yes, I understand that. But, I don't have a way to figure out the exact build date of the truck. The door jamb sticker only lists month and year. It could have been built on the 6th, or a few days later, according to the engine date...I have no way of determining that, and was wondering if anyone had a resource to help me.

The service department at your dealer could look that up, or you can buy both pads and return the unused ones. Statistically, odds are it's the latter.
