I had pretty extensive damage to mine because of a hydrolocked cylinder as a result of a stuck injector. They are covering all of the labor, diagnosis, and parts including a shortblock and cylinder head. They are also covering a rental vehicle for 7 days. I didn't discuss the towing charge, but figured it wasn't that big of a deal ($50).

They covered my towing, a rental vehicle (happened 3 hours from home and took a few days to get it finished and back), all parts and labor. That included the failed injector, plug, oil change and about 2 weeks later a catalytic converter. I've had 2 other injectors fail since then that have been replaced but didn't hydrolock the engine. Why Ford hasn't issued a recall on these things is beyond me.

A recall takes place when a manufacturer notifies all owners of a specific vehicle of a condition or defect that could affect safety or safe operation of the vehicle.

Having your motor hydrolock in 6 lanes of traffic is not exactly what I would call safe operation of the vehicle.

I'm just glad that I didn't have my boat behind me.

Well I'm sure the fine engineers at Ford think it's perfectly safe. :o
