a truck should be able to handle a doughnut off road imo. i would do it in my truck and not even think about it. now on pavement that would be different.

to the OP - that really sucks man im sorry to hear that. hope you can get it fixed without going broke

Everyone ready to feel sick?

Got my truck back saturday, which was VERY quick. $2424.12 for a full rebuild. Truck drove fine for a few hours and then.. same thing. Drove it till today and called them, they sent a tow truck.

I have to say, even with this happening, their customer service is remarkable. They really take care of me. Idk, im likely going to trade it in.

built ford tough doesn't necessarily mean built for your abuse

my truck has seen its moments of donuts in gravel, wet pavement and a few dry pavement 180s that slid the rear end out on me with 35s; few off road adventures, towing and has been programmed since 5000 miles with an edge and for the last 10000 miles a gryphon. the fluid turned up nice and red and no signs of metal shards at 30k mile service.

The truck is a tank but its given me a couple problems, like the occasional misfire, bouncy bed, funny acting window switch and at 130k miles id probably expect mine to go out

Buddy of mine here in vegas went through 3 transmission in 80,000 miles. he drove like **** but im sure the weather got to it as well, doubt he kept up on maintenance but it still drove like new, besides the 3 trannies.

If i was this kid, id take the truck back and get a car, donuts for days, saves money for gas and if your lucky your buddies can tow your stuff for you, if they have trucks. If not get a new 150!

ford does not mean bulletproof and i bet you almost any other manufacturer truck with the same amount of miles, maintenance, driving style etc; would have had a tranny go out as well, if not more, unless of course its a yoda hilux
