I use the 0W-20 100% synthetic in my 07..had nothing but good luck with it.. I usually change it around 6 to 8 months intervals. Just make sure you use an Amsoil filter or equivalent. The XL 5-20 is more like the OEM oil..different PAO stocks I believe. At any rate, just become a dealer for $20..that 5-20 oil becomes about 5 dollars and change per Qt and you save on all the other Amsoil products in the process

No thanks I will stick with the motorcraft that has been proven far more than superior for our ford engines.

Not knocking amsoil, just not willing to pay that much more for something I dont believe I would benefit from.

Well guys I ran motorcraft oil and motorcraft filter since I bought the truck and changed the oil and filter every 3,000 miles and when I got my frpp hot rod cams installed they had to scrape the valve covers to get the build up out of the valve covers and the internals was stained they said it looked like cheap oil or I didn't change my oil regularly which I have done since my truck was new 89000 miles ago they recommended me me using amsoil oil and filter.

I have been using Amsoil 0 w 20 for quite some time. The extended change interval allows me to change my oil twice per year rather than 4 times per year. The extra protection of synthetic is some assurance when it comes to extreme cold weather starting. Where I live, the winter temperatures can be as low as -30C. The additional cost is saved by doing 2 less oil changes each year.

Only if you drive a lot of miles and can extend your Oil Change Interval.

whats the price difference per quart when you become a "dealer," as compared to just buying it outright?

It's roughly about 20 - 25% off from retail on average depending on product. If you use many products or sell to friends you can re-coup that $20 pretty quick.
Quick reference....the 0W-20W 100% synthetic oil is 10.50 per qt....dealer price is $8.10.

you save a little over 2 dollars a quart and you save on oil filters too. I also changed my tranny oil with amsoil and i saved big by doing that

Not entirely true. Amsoil is probably the best brand of oil that you can buy. It's expensive, but it's the best. That's why I opted for Amsoil in my rear axle.

The Amsoil 5w20 XL oil is pretty much a clone of standard Mobil 1, and is priced about the same - $6.95 a quart. It should be changed at 7500 miles or 6 months, just like Mobil 1 and the MC blend. It's group 3 dino based synthetic.

The Amsoil 0w20 synthetic ($9.45) and 0w30 Signature ($10.50) oils are true synthetic PAO oils and are worth every penny in my opinion - if you extend your drain intervals and use a premium filter.
