***Rules and Tips for Calendar Contest***

We thought it would be helpful to put together an informative thread to explain the rules and suggest some tips for the calendar contests going on at MemberCalendars.com, so here goes:

Rules to remember

1. No people in the photos. If you have a nice photo with you or someone in the car, do your best to touch up the image and remove people/company signs and logos. We want a car and a background, thats it.

2. Photos need to be set up as landscape, or, as rectangles with a 4:3 aspect ratio. There is a help button on the website explaining this in more detail, look for it when you are prompted to upload your photo. No small files or huge files will pass the upload checker.

3. Make sure it is YOUR photograph

4. One photo per user per car. If you have 2 or more cars and pictures for them, have your significant other or a friend sign up and submit. No images (even if they are different angles) of the same car, please.

Some Tips

1. Altering an image with a design software such as Photoshop is ok. Make sure you don't make a car into something it is not (like adding or removing parts). This is not a necessary step however, don't feel like you have no chance if your photo is untouched and natural. Some people prefer that, which is why this is a public vote.

2. Group photos of cars are encouraged, as long as they are all similar cars that are eligible for the specific contests in which you are entering them. (So no Mustangs with a Camaro and a Firebird, got it?)

3. Feel free to post a couple of images on the Calendar threads here on the forum (even this one) to get some opinions from other members. You might have 2 or 3 photos you are considering so have your own mini-vote to determine which one to submit, if that helps you decide on one.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY!!

Spread the word to others who might be interested in submitting a photo. If there aren't enough images to make a calendar, there will be no calendar. If you like this idea and concept, which isn't new (club calendars have been around since there have been clubs and printing presses), you have to promote the idea to others. Of course we want to see all the calendars be successful. Every calendar we print will credit your forums, which is good for the enthusiast community. There's a noob born every minute, this will only help the exposure of the forum networks.

Only YOU can create calendars, we're just the ones who will ultimately put the ink on paper for you.

Good luck to all and feel free to ask questions or comment, we're doing all that we can to respond to everyone.

Thanks.

Cover and Rear Cover Pics!!

Hey Guys -

Here's the picture of the cover and rear cover (with the winners) for our calendar. We are waiting for Ford to give us the "ok" to print these, which should be really soon. Once we their approval, we will be sending out emails to the winners so they can receive their free calendars. Thanks to everyone that participated.

I would tend to agree... the only things I see that deserve to be in a calander is bnkrpt's truck, shank's truck, and the random 09-10 and (not really custom though, just nice)... other than that It appears to be 90% appealing to the someone who doesn't like newer-custom vehicles and prefers classics or redneck-lifted 70's/80's/90's style trucks.

I won't gripe too much cause I didn't submit pics, It's kinda like not voting then griping about the outcome... Pretty cool, I guess, to have a calendar made of regular folks trucks...

Ii hear you. That was the idea behind this company, to let everyone have a say and chance to be in the calendar. Everyone has different tastes, so the trucks you love, someone else will no doubt hate and vice versa. But at least, there was a chance for everyone to have a say in it.

I do happen to like all the trucks you just mentioned.

Matt, I'm part of the redneck lifted truck crowd then since I'm 1 of the 2

Meh I made it...there wasn't enough participation for it to be full of custom trucks.

Well, no offense to you of course. My taste of those type trucks is skewed because of the area I live in...'redneck central' Rednecks have trashed those trucks turning them into mud wagons and then run them down the road as their daily driver and trashing them at the river bottoms every weekend. They look like crap, sound like crap, are all falling apart littering parts all over the road and they still think they are gold those types of people around here just don't care, and it disgusts me. Of course I disgust them and they have let me know that because I have a 'street queen' and refuse to tear it up offroad.

lakemarykid, I'll get you some pics of the garbage I'm talking about. I'm sure it will make even you puke. I have seen those type trucks look great at shows across the country; lifted, lowered or stock... I have seen how well those trucks can perform offroad and know they are beasts.

but you guys will have to excuse the bad taste I have because of the 'ultra-rednecks' in my area ruining the image of those trucks.

Haha it's all in fun Matt, just razzin you! I know exactly what you mean though. If they aren't work trucks covered in paint and concrerte they are ragged out wood trucks. It is the same as here. That's why I still keep my pretty one around. They are surely a dime a dozen in good shape let alone modified.
