Using an exchange machine in the passive mode - with the engine running - is *NOT* a flush. It's simply using the tranny pump the SAME WAY it works when you are driving to move the fluid through the transmission, with the old fluid being replaced by new fluid.
If the shop wants to pump flushing fluid through the tranny, THAT'S what you don't want.

I changed my fluid around 30k.Trans died at 55k.Never towed a damm thing, 5.4l with tow package.did have 35's for awile.went down to a 33.Also had a edge for awile.got rid of it..Have no clue when im gonna change the fluid in the new reman trans.lol

I agree with Arrubba.
A FLUSH will remove clutch material deposits that build up here and there. A DRAIN will only remove the fluid. Regular maintenance will reduce these clutch material and other build-ups. If a trans is left for 100K miles and then flushed, it could lead to disaster. By this time, there are lots of build-ups and internal line pressures have changed but the FLUSH will immediately return these back to almost original by removing the deposits. Now, this is when a most weak trans will start to fail....

WOW! What a bummer!
Did you buy it used or have a leak and loose a lot of fluid? I've never heard of a transmission failing that early without something leading to its early demise. I took a car to AAMCO one time and had my fluid and filter changed. When they were done they brought the car around the front and told me it was ready to go. Jokingly, I said, "You did put fluid back in it right?" The guy looked at me with an "Oh s#&t!" look on his face and said, "No." I told him to push the car back into the garage and fill it up! You really have to check their work, unfortunately.

bought truck brand new from the dealer.I had one of my techs change the fluid and i doubt he would do that to me.and no leaks.guess it just happend.
