Anybody Decide to Remove the FX4 Skid Plates?

My front skid plate is bolted right to the frame, so unless the frames were separated for special drilling on the assembly line, I am sure they will bolt right up.

I removed them one day, was looking to see if they had crud on them. Were a little dusty so I wiped them off .... and after awhile debating wheather to put them back on .... I put them back on.

Why not just solve the problem by reminding the oil change tech to clean up the oil that he spills on the skid plate?

Skid plate weights:

according to fords option weights, they are 34lbs on 2010-2011 trucks. May be different on older. Seems pretty light but if they aren't needed then dead weight.
