Prodigy Brake controller

Just installed a prodigy brake controller. Have a question though. The two dots on the display are still on after I shut my truck off, why? do they go off? I opened and shut the doors, locked the truck and nothing made these lights turn off. Does anyone elses do this? I am wondering if there is an on off button or something?

Nevermind I figured it out. It has a feature that keeps it active for 15minutes after the last braking event. not real sure why when nothing is connected to the truck but it definately goes off.

Okay, another question. When I am driving occasionally there are 2 lines that blink on the bottom of the display. The instructions indicate that this means the controller is mounted at to low of an angle for optimum braking, however I have the controller mounted at 0 degrees (which the directions state are ok for this controller) and it does not blink unless I am going uphill or accellerating.

Is this ok? Does anyone else with this controller have this issue?

I have a prodigy as well....mine always has lines that stay lit when the truck is on and no trailer is connected....its normal. Once you connect a trailer wiring harness the controller recognizes it and he display functions as it should....I also have it mounted at 0 degrees, tried moving it when I got it to see if I was doing something wrong but its just normal for the controller so no worries.

The lines will be there once the truck is shut off as well for the "standby" as you put it...they go out.

Mine has been on the truck for over a year, never killed my battery or anything like that.

Works great when I tow as well (horse trailer, 10 ft livingston boat with all fishing gear)

Enjoy the new toy

Mine has the two dots but there are also to lines that blink only when going uphill or accelerating rapidly. If I reach down and barely put some upward pressure on the mount it stops blinking. again this only happens when gonig uphill or accerating. I have it mounted at 0 degrees but i wonder if its tricking itself when going uphill to thinking it is mounted past 0 degrees. Seems to funtion fine though. As long as it works allright Im not going to worry about it because I love where I have it mounted.

Your controller and installation is fine. I have had one in my truck since it was new in 2004 and I have never had a problem.
