Question spare tire lock

2008 F150 ext. cab.....had to plug a tire and left the spare tire lock/cover on the rear bumper as I waited to see if the plug held for a couple of days and I lost it, anyone know where I can get one to replace it, I'd rather not go thru the stealership if you know what I mean.

thanks

Pretty sure the only way to get it is a dealership because they are keyed to your ignition key. So how would you get one made and keyed to your Ignition key without going through a dealership?

I would just leave it out. They didnt even put locks on them till recently anyway. I highly doubt someone will take the time to steal a spare tire. But who knows these days.

You might find one at the wrecker. A locksmith can re-key it for your key.

The cover on my truck wasn't keyed to my ignition. I bought the truck used with 23k on it, so there is no idea what happened to it. I ended up breaking the lock.
