Rear Axle Price Check

What's the going rate for a used 9.75 3.73 LS axle? Local place quoted me about $1100 and I think that's a little out there.

According to www.car-part.com, they start at about 500 bucks and go up to over $1500. Your guy is high, but not out of line.

That's close to the quote I got down here in deep south Texas. If you don't mind me asking why are you in the market for one? To get rid of gear whine?

Ford charged me 900 for a re-built axle basically new shafts, bearings, and hubs.

Go to a better gear set and add a limited slip with minimal out of pocket and truck down time. Although a 4.10 or 4.30 would suite me better.

If you you go the salvage yad route, I would try to stay away from the 2004-2005 years. They can be quite noisy (mine is).
