35's vs 37's
i have an 04 screw. i have a fabtech 6" ready to install a new set of 20x9's and two slightly used 35-12.5 toyo mts un-mounted..my plan as i gain 'milk money' for this. was to buy two new toyos and run them up front. they cost 9hun for a pair new locally..i have a chance to buy a set of 37-12.5 20 toyo mts 'slightly used..they look new, from a guy i know who traded his truck in for $12 hun..what would you do? pros and cons of 35-37. i do have a level kit up front now, but planned to remove it when i put in the fab-tech..

if you switch to 37's you will need to regear...your gas mileage will suffer as well.
I think the 35's look great with a 6" lift. You can still run a level kit with the 6" fabtech. |
I say get the 37's. Eventually your gonna do it since your already thinking about it. That would be dumb buying 2 brand new ones when you can get a set full set of 37's for a couple hundred dollars more.
|
Just keep the leveling kit on when you put the fabtech lift on then just buy you a 2" aal. I think you would be very happy with the end result. That's my opion
|
Spending thousands of dollars to lift the truck and run the same size tires you can run with a 70 dollar leveling kit is stupid. Get the 37s and save your money to regear.
|
You don't have to regear right away. Plus you could always just regear the rear. Just make sure you don't put it in 4 wheel drive
|
i still can't believe anyone can run 35's on a leveling kit..i have the ready lift and tried to fit 325-65-18's and they rubbed..had to drop down to the 60's

Sounds like your a little strapped for extra cash, so Id do 35s since regearing seems way down the road. 37s without regearing is only going to cause horrible mileage and lots of strain on the transmission/overdrive.

As long as you have a set of gears from 3.55 up you should be fine is all I am saying for now. |

A 4 inch lift is perfect for 35's IMO. But if your going 6 inch I would deffinitly go 37's because 35's look real to small IMO on 6 inch lift |

Def do 37's, I have the previously mentioned $70 level with 35's.. and if your running a 6" you might as well go big.

Not here. His shift points would be all weird and he would burn out his tranny with 3.55 gears. 3.73's would be a tad better but with the extra weight of the lift kit combined with the bigger tires you NEED to re gear to help the truck even move out of its own way.
What size gears are on your truck flys-f150? |

Because IMO 35's look out of place on a leveled truck. They look to big and they rub on full steering lock if you have MT's
