Front differential vent?

Never had any reasons to worry about the front differential till now so I'm a bit dumb on this...

I just had my truck on a really steep angle which had to be around 40 degrees with the passenger on the down side. Back end wasn't as bad since it was flexed a bit. Anyways I started smelling differential fluid and I quickly backed down the incline and seen the fluid on the bottom of the front differential. I don't see any obvious leaks and it's not pouring out sitting level.

So I guess my question would be is there a vent that I may have been pouring out of? Also how the heck do you service the front? It's dark and the skeeters are out in force right now so I can't really get in there to see.

If you need to pull the cover off and get the actual parts out of there, be prepare to remove the majority of your lift kit. mmm fun!

Theres an easier way to change the fluid but I can't recall right now...

Good lord I hope not. Too flipping hot to do this type of crap right now. I wonder if it can be filled through that vent tube if it exist cause I never noticed it before.

Stupid drain hose came loose. I should be able to slip a small hose into the vent and pump a bit of fluid back into there... Hopefully.
