Need help when backing up noise

I COME TO THE BEST FOR HELP,THANK GOD I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH MY 2004 F150 4X4 BUT TODAY I WAS BACKING UP AND THE GUY ACROSS THE STRRET SAID TO ME YOUR TRUCK IS MAKING A NOISE,SO I THOUGHT IT WAS THE LIGHT TRAILER I HAD ON TEH BACK OF MY TRUCK SO I TOOK IT OFF AND BACKED UP AGAIN AND IT STILL MAKES THE NOISE,ONLY DOES IT IN REVERSE NOT FOWARD,THE FASTER I BACK UP THE FASTER THE NOISE IS,ANY HELP WOULD BE WONDERFUL THANKS GUYS FOR ANY HELP.

Is it s scrape/squeak that gets faster as you back up faster?

no it dont scrape it Squeaks

My friend's truck had the same thing and only in reverse. He backed up and I listened from both sides of the truck and it wasn't clearly one side or the other. We doused the u-joints at the rear end and tranny with wd-40 and that fixed it. It has not done it since and he stopped at the dealer and the joints checked out fine. We had a lot of rain lately and his driveway holds water right under his truck and we assume that might be what caused it. Hope it works for you.....if it's clearly one side it might be brakes.

ok

ya thats what im going to do tomorrow in the morning,what did you use to spray it with,and why do you think it would only do it in reverse

We started with wd-40 so it would penetrate to try and locate it but hasn't needed any thing since. Not sure why reverse only did it. Maybe it just pivots it a little different.

My old ranger did that...bad u joints
