Lol...no i just got my truck in May and financed it for 72 months at 5.75%. I put 0 down and made 2 payments of $500 (payment is really $488.xx, i just round it up). My bank sent me a letter offering 3.99% and another 1/4% off for automated payments, which dropped it to $465.xx a month. Final paperwork showed a savings of about 2 grand over the life of the loan, and they gave me $100 cash to boot .

If my math is correct you payed almost 30 grand for a truck that is 3 years older or older. I hope it is a nice one.

Hmmm, i thought it was 2 years old. Anyway, everything but navi, 22K miles. $27.5 plus tax, title and tags. It was the going rate for these trucks around here.

2011s are on the lots. Your truck, depending on mfg. date, hit the streets in either late 2007 or early 2008.

It is a nice truck though. Prices vary quite a bit from region to region.

Not necessarily. My '08 was first licensed in December of '08. I remember buying a new (25 miles on the clock) Ranger in February of the following year. I had one hekuva time convincing my Credit Union it was new, not used, when I refinanced it! I had to take them outside and show them the odometer to convince them.

Age of a vehicle does not go by in service date, it goes by date of mfg. If i go and find a 2008 with zero miles still on a lot somewhere it is a brand new, 3 year old truck.

Congratulations!!! That is the best mod you can do. The second best mod is to now start making those car payments into an interest bearing bank account (money market fund, etc.) and do not buy another car/truck until you have enough money to pay cash for it. When you do that, keep making those payments to yourself and you will never again have to borrow money for a car/truck. You have taken the hardest step - paying off the current vehicle - the rest is gravey!!!
