Summer Changes (Lots of Pics)

Well, after starting off the summer with little projects I had my truck broken into (Truck got broken into). Got it back from all the repairs, then the real projects started to kick in. On to some pictures:

Started off by painting my wiper cowls with Krylon Fusion which had some serious sun damage.
Started like this

Comparing painted to not painted

Painted the wipers as well

Close up of painted and not painted

Newly painted installed

Then I had the truck broken into, which resulted in my getting a new head unit thanks to State Farm

Next was a Viper 5901 security system with 2 way pager, prox sensor, glass break sensor, and tilt sensor. You get within 5 feet of the truck now, and it'll warn ya.

So then i finally got around to using the paint i bought for the calipers a while back and painted all those.
rear:

front:

Like the way those turned out. Its a suttle difference, but really cleans up the look.

Then i installed some AUX switches

The one that is on goes to my amp which power is supplied from my head unit so i can leave the switch on at all times without supplying power at all times, but have the option to easily turn the amp off while driving
The 2 on the left go to these...

which is attached to this...

And the wiring going to the KC Daylighters and the custom bracket i had to make because the bracket it came with required me to drill through a cross bar running accross the bed.

Anyway, im pleased with what all ive done with my truck this summer. Most happy with the Go Rhino Bed Bar and the KC 130W Daylighters. Been wanting that pretty much since i bought my truck (well actually, ever since i saw one when i was really little on Walker, Texas Ranger )

I agree.

Also never understood the theory behind having auxillary lights but leaving covers on. Running say the baja 1000 you need to run them during the day to prevent the rocks and you know you'll need them come sun down. On a daily driver though you never know when you'll need them unless it's just a look.

yeah, i was kinda worried about how it would look since i had only seen these on older models (even the picture on the site i bought it from didnt really give a good image and by the modification i had to make for the mounting brackets made me really believe it wasnt a very popluar choice to put it on the NBS f150). but i believed in myself that it would look good and took a leap of faith. im happy with the way it turned out and from what i always hear, thats all that matters.

now i need to get some tint on my front windows and fix my nerf bars. If anyone has some ideas about how i could fix those im very open to suggestions. the plastic warped from the heat and no longer lays flat enough so i can put them back on. Plus the tabs that go into the nerf bars themselves are just straight so once i finally do get them all in, there is nothing to hold them in. i can get some pics later if people want to see what im talking about...

i leave them on around the city and take them off whenever im driving outside of downtown houston or if im going to be driving around for a while at night around houston just in case. its easy enough to stand on my side steps and pop them on and off, i just leave them on most of the time to prevent things from messing the lens up

Like those switches, where did you pick them up? Also what are they good for voltage/current wise or do you just run everything through relays?

Looks great! What size are your BFG's and how do you like em? Are they as bad in the mud as everyone says they are?

I got em from Autozone. They were about $5 a switch. Pretty much every Autozone i went to didnt have enough, so i ended up taking the 1 they had at the store next to me and they ordered the rest to be delievered to the store. I run relays for the lights, but run whatever current is coming from my head unit to the amp straight through. If i remember right they are rated up to 10 amps.

275/65-18. They are a lot better than a street tire in mud, but if you go through anything substantial they will clog up and make slicks pretty quickly (Pics of stuck in central texas). But if your just going through some small mud holes, theyre good and for that 98% of the other time your not in mud they are a great tire.

Looks good except I hate those lights. Those old smiley face yellow covers bug the out of me. I would NEVER put those on ANYthing I drive. But, that's just me.

Your cowl and windshield wiper painting project really looks nice!
