Tranny problems...

Looks like my truck will be going into the shop tomorrow. Not wanting to shift into 3rd, and won't shift into 4th at all. Just revs... This sucks!

71,700 miles. Purchased the truck on July 21,2005. Get this....On August 22, I went back to the dealer and decided to purchase a Premium Coverage 60 Month/100,000 mile extended warranty. Find out today that since this was a "Demo" truck that was used by an employee of the dealership before we purchased...that my warranty expired on 5-11-10. The actual "In service date" was 5-11-2005....which was when the dearship started using the truck. And apparantly...that is when they "have to start the warranty". I purchased a 58and a half month warranty...not a 60. NO ONE EVER told me this. Such BS!!! Now here is July 13th 2010 and my warranty that should be covered for another 8 days...has been expired for 2 months. I NEVER used it for anything either. Well...after MANY phone calls to FoMoCo and to the dealership..we finally got satisfaction. The dealer values my family's business over the past years in new car sales and service, and they want to keep us happy. They gave me a free tow (45 miles). And say that the tranny fix will cost me no more than the $100 deductible that I would have had to pay if the warranty was still valid. And that tranny is SCREWED too. Got worse this morning and would not engage any gear. Just rev, rev, rev..... Guess I should be happy?.?.?

So..they say the clutch is what went out... Still without my truck... Atleast they haven't said anything about my 35's...yet... Hope to hear something tomrrow... I know I will hear PLENTY from all my GM buddies this weekend... I guess I will deserve it, since I always brag on how tough Fords are, and how much better built my truck is compared to theirs... oh well... Give it hell...

Haha..I hear ya. The truth is the truth, and you can't deny the facts! Fords really are better built...and it shows. Get my truck back tomorrow. I am just really hoping that the dealer fixed it RIGHT...and didn't just put a band-aid on it to save themselves money.

I was hellbent on getting a 05-06 Sierra/Silverado. Was almost there till a co-worker let me drive his 04 Screw. i was like.. more room, more comfort, just felt like a stronger, more sturdy truck, and most of all, the ***** and dials didn't look like Tonka toys. Copped an 05 FX4 SCrew instead. So glad I didn't buy a GM (Government Motors).....

If you only have to pay 100 you're getting off easy... Just spent about 2k getting my tranny rebuilt at 97k miles. The guy who rebuilt it said the planetary gears were destroyed. Mine wouldn't go into reverse easily and started having issues with 1st when I took it in.
