Went shooting, and a little excitement for the truck

WEll went shooting the other day, and on our way out, we pulled onto the shoulder for a tractor, and well, what we thought was the shoulder was actually a 3 foot drop off that was masked by the grass height. needless to say we all about crapped our pants. The truck was resting on the frame, the drivers side tires were barely touching any ground, so we had to call the tow truck to come get us out...

I was thinking "time for a lift" but im thinking the higher center of gravity would have rolled the truck, as we almost rolled as it is.

pics:

not sure why, but my fav. pic:

brother in law, he is almost 5"10...

the father in law( who was driving) notice the writing on the hat (redneck)

honestly the first time ive ever gone in the ditch unintentionally and where i wasnt driving..

At least it didn't roll. I'm guessing that you didn't go shooting after this.

Looks like the tractor that you pulled over for should've pulled you out.

No damage(thank god), but the tractor that we pulled over for, well he kept going, just stared at us as he was driving by.

When we first went over and the pass. tires hit the bottom, we started to roll, but luckily the truck rested back down.. Could have been alot worse!

And this was After we had just got done shooting! so it didnt ruin the whole day!

I would have pulled out the rifle and shot out the tractor's tires for at least not stopping to see if everyone was ok

those few with common courtesy on the roads use it and end up like this, i would have done the same, but now due to little incidents and situations where you feel the person you did the deed for should of been thankful theyre not, leads to been for ruthless and stubborn as drivers.....sadly we dont change people change us, glad everybodies is ok and so is the truck!

That's the typical shoulder in Iowa. We don't go near them with the truck after walking them looking for pheasants. Is your father in law not from Iowa? He had just passed a road to the field that he could have pulled into. That was not so bad, I'll bet the tractor could have pulled you backwards right out of it. It's possible that the hired help was driving and he did not think he had approval to pull someone out.
