New Alternator 200amp

so today i was bored and my dad had told me earlier in the month to change my alternator and not wait for it to go out so i wont have to deal with the towing issues and everything....since the last week at work has been extremely slow at work i decided to rebuilt a alternator for my truck and since i was doing that why not replace it with a 200amp one

here are some pics

i dont know if the order is right but what ever here are some pics

Wow, I can't see beyond the piles of crap on your work bench.... Ya, your photo order looks a little messed up. But nice job.

You must be planning to power a small town

All I saw was spare parts on the work bench. Easier to find that way

very nice upgrade for you to take on by yorself there. just make sure that if you have your truck set up to actually use a 200amp charge that your vharging wire from your alternator is upgraded to a heavier guage.

on a side note.... how in the hell can you keep track of anything on that workbench? if that was the one at my shop my boss would be having heads.

Looks like a great mod!

But how exactly did you go about the conversion?

That pulley looks like it has a centrifugal clutch. The only thing I've seen those on were police models with the 200A alternator. Papajohn is right about upgrading the cable from the battery to the alt. What you have wouldn't come close to handling it if the alt. actually had to put out what it is capable of.
Wanta see your Dad go nuts??? Empty the bench into a garbage can and throw it out. Stand around the corner and see his reaction when he comes in next morning. He'd probably be out in about 20 years, since it wasn't pre- meditated. JK

no biggie dude. a lot of times if you are dealing with something specific and there is a forum that covers that subject that is usually where you would post it.

so is that an actual 200 amp kit you got for the rebuild? is there anything beefier that goes into the rebuild? and please tell me you are upgrading the charge line back to the battery to handle that.
