so is that an actual 200 amp kit you got for the rebuild? is there anything beefier that goes into the rebuild? and please tell me you are upgrading the charge line back to the battery to handle that.
talked to my dad and he said there is no point of changing the charge line that goes to the battery because the one that i have on it is extremely heavy duty and thick as heck, but people do they theyre are bigger then 200amp for the f150's but my dad said there is no way in hell its possible, the housing isnt big enough to get bigger then a 200amp because the truck doesnt have enough space

Has the cable from the alt. to the battery already been upgraded to a larger size? If not, I respectfully disagree with your dad. "Hey Dude, that cable LOOKS nice and heavy, that ought to do just fine" doesn't count. Eyeballing and about $4. will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Everything else requires technical data!

it would be something you would make. 4 ft of 0g would work. it just goes from alt to battery (positive side). very easy to do..

I doubt that it would have to be quite that heavy. I prefer fine strand cable as oppose to course. The best cable you can buy is welding cable. You can buy it at any welding supply place. They sell it in bulk, any length you want, but it isn't necessary to get that, just some good cable, not real course cable with about 10 strands in it. You're in Orange Co., I think I have some O that you could have a piece of, but I still don't think it has to be that heavy.

I had a 200 amp alt. I just swapped it back to the larger factory 130 amp. I am glad to this can be done. The aftermarket 200 amp was about 500 bucks when I bought it. I like the factory one, it has a lifetime warranty and I ended up not needing the extra juice.

Is there a way to adapt the clutch to the stock 130 amp alternator?
