I took my 06 FX4 to the dealership about two weeks. After sitting there for about an hour and half I walked out to see my truck still sitting in the drop off lane. I walked out there to asked them what was taking so long and they told me they had lost my key and had to make new ones and they were about to take it back. So they took it back and told me it was a fuel injector, something like 450 bucks to fix and oh by the way your warranty expired three weeks ago. So i told them not to fix it and bring it back. I got in and took it home.

Well about a week later a notice my headlights are not working. The only thing that works on the headlight switch is fog lamps. I check bulbs and fuses and the switch itself and everything is getting power. I then check the relays and thought everything was okay. I took over to my buddies house who is a mechanic and he asked me where my missing relays were, and I looked at him rather confused. Apparently someone took two relays out of the truck, what I think to be a R03. 1/2 ISO.

He said that is probably the issue but he is not sure. He said if they made me new keys they may have messed something up when they reprogrammed it. I am now trying to find a new relay to test that theory.

I do now know for a fact that there was a relay there before, never thought to look. I did call the dealership as soon as I noticed it and they said nothing they did would have messed it up and said they would not claim any responsibility, and I have no proof because they did not put the new keys on their write up.

Any ideas of what could be causing the problem? Are the daytime running lamps and headlights run off the same relay?

 

How about the multi-function switch? Do the park lights work? How about the high beam flash on the multi switch?
