Just one. There's no room for two, and honestly no need. I don't think there's any hard numbers out there, but the reason the Mark VIII fan is so popular is because it flows an obscene amount of air.

Thanks, MGD. I ended up ordering the Spal. Called their tech support twice and they were great. They said no fans over 25 amps. I called Troyer and they said 19 continuous for their fans, so that should work. Still a drag to buy a $400 e fan kit and after very little use have to put out another $230 (by the time you get controller, temp sensor and second fan relay) for a decent controller. The F150 temp sensor doesn't work very well with the spal controller.

It's similar to the dc controls in that it's PWM and varies the speed of the fan (not the second one, it kicks on at full speed after the first one is up to full speed). And I like the fact that it's a real temp sensor that screws into the water jacket instead of the mickey mouse radiator fin probe. A bit harder to install maybe, but much more reliable. I would have went with the dc controls if they had a phone # or at least answered their emails, but the wait would have been impossible for me also.

I also considered the Dakota Digital. It has some nice features, but no variable speed which I think will be great.

I look on ebay, amazon, autozone, ect...
I see Mark 8, town car and taurus fans between $75 & $160
almost all look the same except some have 6 blades and some have 9 blades...most don't specify cfm output...

some are new aftermarket OE fans and some are used OEM "FORD/lincoln" fans...
what exactly are ya'll installing???

I totally agree with all who like the idea of useing the factory shroud
due to weather and air flow...not to mention it appears to be much cheaper with better results for the swap vs an aftermarket dual fan...

Yes, I have had the markVIII fan and DCcontrols controller for 2 years....Works great. Absolutely no problems....THe fan for the markviii is also the same one on the late 90's Ford thunderbird....with v8...Can be had at junk yards for $29 and than add the controller which includes all wiring and you are good to go...

Ihave been following that post and that is what I would likely go with. I like the idea of a factory efan that ford is currently using in their new trucks. It makes me feel safer. At this time I am in the process of moving from NC to TN trying to seel a house and a business so I have no $$$ to spend on the truck and this project like all other ones is put on hold (crap).
